Program Details
In 2016, to celebrate our 20th anniversary, Algonquin Adventure Tours (AAT) put together an innovative program featuring one night Algonquin Park group glamping camping, combined with two different day tours (canoe & hike - 3hr). For those with limited time, the need to stay connected or just prefer a hot shower and comfortable bed, this is the perfect way to enjoy Algonquin Provincial Park camping in style. And we usually run this special glamping camping extravaganza during peak wild blueberry harvest and Algonquin's famous fall colours.

What is Algonquin Provincial Park Glamping? Glamping refers to glamorous camping. The Algonquin Adventure Tours set up offers standing height tents, wall to wall carpeting, super comfortable raised single sleeping cots or bunks beds (kids), thick air mattresses, pillows, and sleeping bags with freshly washed liner sheets. Sorry, four post king size beds could not fit in our van :-). We have plenty of useful accents like night stands, sitting chairs and luggage racks. Overall, the AAT team has invested thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours, much of it making décor by hand, to provide you a beautiful, comfortable and luxurious camping experience.  We provide a towel and soap/shampoo, tent lighting, a flashlight and USB charging. Flush toilets and hot shower are a short walk from our campsite. On this adventure, campsite set up is performed by AAT staff, as is all meal preparation and cleaning. Participants just show up with proper clothing and we provide everything else.

This two day limited edition guided group extravaganza combines one night glamping camping inside Canada's oldest provincial park, with two amazing tours into the park interior. Although this adventure is suitable for people ages 7-80ish, with no previous paddling experience, all participants must have the high energy and moderate fitness level for 4 hours of physical exertion (we take brief water breaks every 30 minutes). Up to 6 participants on one camp site  will make memories and new friends for a lifetime.

With such a limited run of this exclusive program and rave reviews, our tours fill up quickly. So please make your reservations early as they are subject to availability on the park.

Although we have encountered moose, deer, beaver, muskrat, heron, loon, turtle, frog, bear, racoon and fish on our Algonquin Park day trips, as with all wilderness tours, animal encounters are a rather random and rare occurrence.  However, a skilled guide definitely increases the chances of a memorable and safe educational adventure. And please note that our multiday canoe safaris offer the best opportunities for successful wildlife observation.

Custom tours are always available for any time and group size - just contact us for more information. Trips depart rain or shine (as long as there is no lightning). Life jackets MUST be worn at all times.

A car is required for this program because clients must transport themselves between the canoe tour location and glamping campsite, 20 km further into the park. Parking permits are included for the duration of this program.

Participants 7 and older are welcome on this group adventure. Children younger than 7 are welcome on private adventures. Children 7-9 will not paddle during the canoe tour as they can't keep up to adult paddle speeds.
Day 1 starts with our renowned 6 hour guided group canoe tour departing from Canoe Lake at 11:30am. Lunch includes a gourmet sandwich from Henrietta's. At 5:30pm, your guide will escort you, by car, to our glamping campsites in one of Algonquin's highway 60 corridor campgrounds. Your gorgeous accommodations and three course dinner (salad, chicken schnitzel, spaghettini, organic veggies from our local farm, dessert pastry from Henrietta's bakery) await at a perfectly located waterfront campsite. After a relaxing evening swim, some hammock time and a soothing hot shower, we will enjoy S'mores and marshmallows by the campfire.

On day 2, your guide will begin breakfast service, at 8:00am, with a fruit, fresh ground/brewed coffee, crispy bacon and blueberry pancakes with pure Canadian maple syrup. This is a meal you will tell your grandkids about! After breakfast, a 3 hour guided hiking tour begins around 10:00am. (tents must be clear by that time). We will snack on wild blueberries (when possible) and occasionally observe black bears doing the same. We finish off, back at the campsite, with lunch of yummy grilled meat or vegetarian sliders (on Henrietta's bakery buns).  Your Algonquin Park glamping camping adventure will end, and your vehicle permit returned, by 2pm on day 2. But the memories will continue forever.
